This was the first boot in our collection, Dr. Martens had it signed and sent it to us for Display. I'm such an idiot, when I was taking it out of the box i put my thumb on his signature - it was done with a gold pen and the ink wasn't set.. I totally smudged it, Sorry Henry
REM - Signature Wall
May 1995, REM’s Michael Stipe dropped by the store two days in a row while his band was headlining at Fiddler’s Green. Lisa at the shop called to tell me he was in, I was like "Sweet, ask him to sign the wall!!" but she didn't want to bother him and he left. Then we got lucky, he came back the next day. She asked him to sign the wall and he said 'no problem but where?' There was nothing on the wall yet.. she just said over by the front door, so Stipe wrote on the wall: “Michael Stipe bought a magazine and a shirt.” and there is was.. it was started! - and the rest is history!!
