Andy Rourke rolled in the store along with Michael Trundle, good friend of the shop.  - I know i keep saying that about Michael but he brings in giant rock stars to Dj with him at his club night "LIPGLOSS" and he takes them around town during their visit to the cool record stores and always comes to FashioNation which is rad.
I had a blast with Andy going over all my Smiths records, he graciously signed all of them telling stories about each.  I didn't realise i had a few rare pieces, just bought them as they came out, but I had the first pressing of the 12 inch to 'What Difference Does It Make' with Terence Stamp holding a chloroform pad and a first pressing of Meat is Murder without 'How Soon is Now' in the tracks
I know.. rock stars and boots.. but so what, they wear shoes and it's rad they get them from us! Â Andy took his time to find the perfect pair of Doc's.
One of my favorite bands, 'Now, today, tomorrow and always'. The Smiths boot in our collection!Â
You dream about days like this and then they happen!  Jello - Freaking - Biafra at our shop getting Dr. Martens!  He Lives in Boulder, so not too far from FashioNation.  He made his way to Denver for a promotional visit at Wax Trax Records (best record store on the planet) he stopped in after his gig.  (with store kids Doug,Tina & me)
Did I mention Jello just can't make up his mind... seriously.. can't do it.. . I suppose if you have a customer who's in the shop forever deciding on what to get, it's pretty cool for it to be a living legend.  I think brought him every size 10 black DM we had in stock.  all in all a great day!  - (side note, did you ever see Tapeheads with John Cusack? Jellos in that too .. fun flick!)
Nazi Punks Fuck Off - Jello tell'n ya -  we got a pure DK punk soul for boot collection!
What!  Peter Hook in our shop??  YES!  The Super Bad Ass bass player from Joy Division & New Order, ya, that's the one.  Peter was in Denver playing with his band The Light, covering classic albums from J-D and N-O.  We sent them a note asking them to stop by the shop back in 2011 but didn't hear back, then 2 years later out of the blue we got an email asking if the offer was still open as they were returning to Denver.  We met them at the airport and took them straight to FashioNation.  We traded boots for tickets to the show!  just another day at the shop?..  not even close
On stage that night at the Gothic, Peter IS rock'n our FashioNation logo shirt on stage!  He asked me if i would like to introduce the band on stage, i declined, it was more than enough just to have them in the store. Â
