DEVO Boot! Mark and the band signed up this boot for us. The story behind it? - this Red Patent boot is from one of our oldest customers, Angel, she brought them back for us to do something special with, she bought them in the late 1980's
It's a beautiful world we live in, because of Mark!! - talk about idol worship! We tried & tried to get the boys from DEVO in the shop but no luck. We went back and forth with their management and It went as far as Special ordering the band 4 pair of Dr. Marten shoe for their 'Hardcore' tour but it just didn't happen. We were able to meet DEVO on their 'Hardcore tour', through the store we were able to attend a meet & greet after the concert. While we were talking to the guys, ( they were in a row behind a big counter) we were speaking to Jerry and my records went down the line getting signed. When i got to the end where Mark Mothersbaugh was, he sheepishly pushed my record 'are we not men' toward me and stacked it with the others i had there, we spoke for a moment and he was acting funny like he had a secret. On the way to the car i looked over my record and noticed a big chunk torn for the sleeve.. and signed by "booji boy" Marks mischievous alter ego.. it took my common copy to something special .. needless to say i was very happy
